Ciara and Russell Wilson continue to give back!
Recently, the couple visited Everglades Correctional Institution in Miami with God Behind Bars to read a sermon to 300 incarcerated men at their chapel and sing along with them.
The Denver Broncos quarterback read a bible verse aloud to the chapel attendees before passing the microphone over to Ciara, who led the congregation in song.
“What do you find so beautiful about God’s love?” the “Level Up” singer asked. “Isn’t it relentless?” God won’t let go, never giving up on us or His promise? There are no condemnations in Christ Jesus.”
She continued, “If you ask for forgiveness, He will forgive you.”

Ciara then broke into tears of joy as she sang the inmates “My heart is filled with joy” before belting out the hit single, “Way Maker.”
She was soon joined by Wilson, the entire congregation, and even the church band as they sang along with the singer-model to bring God’s message to those serving in maximum security facilities.
“27 men imprisoned gave their lives to Jesus in a maximum security prison. 300 others filled the chapel to hear words from @dangerusswilson, opening with the words Isaiah says: ‘Behold, I will do a new thing; Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not recognize it?'” “Jesus said to them: ‘I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert” – Isaiah 43:19. This prophecy came true for Jesus in this prison chapel when his words caused everyone present to burst into worship and praise. God Behind Bars described the video posted to their official Instagram account: “The voices of those incarcerated were so loud, it felt like everyone in prison could hear them.” “In a place so easily divided, men in prison came together and wrapped their arms around each other in prayer for those suffering from anxiety or depression. After Celia sang “WAYMAKER,” men came forward and wept, giving their lives to Jesus.” Many of these men are serving life sentences in prison, but now they will spend eternity with Jesus. It was an extraordinary night of unity, praise and salvation – we will never be the same! God is bringing revival to prisons! Jesus is doing a new thing.”
In another video posted both to Wilson’s page and God Behind Bars’, the football star invited one of the inmates up to sing “Jireh” with Ciara. As everyone watched in awe of this man’s singing abilities, applause and praise erupted throughout the congregation in what the organization described as a life-altering moment.
“During worship inside of a maximum security prison, @dangerusswilson brought this incarcerated brother up to sing with the band…As they began singing Jireh, all 300 inmates were stunned when they heard his voice…You could feel the energy change in that room,” they shared alongside an inspiring clip. “God’s presence filled this chapel as these men worshiped and celebrated together – we will never be the same after this moment. Jesus still has plans and purpose for each man present!”
Ciara and Wilson have a history of giving back, and their visit to Everglades Correctional Institution is no exception. Most recently, Ciara and Wilson made a Christmas-time visit to Children’s Hospital Colorado where they visited the hospital’s broadcast media center donated by Ryan Seacrest Foundation and made the most of their time with the children.
After 10 years with the Seattle Seahawks, Ciara and Wilson made the move to Denver, Colorado. Wilson signed on as quarterback of the Denver Broncos after previously serving as quarterback of their rival team.
Ciara and Wilson had already visited the Children’s Hospital once before in March 2022 to commemorate their new home.
